MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – The Montevallo men's and women's swimming team competed in the tri-meet against Berry College and Emmanuel University hosted by Berry on Saturday, Oct. 21.
The men's team defeated Berry College 195-75 but lost to Emmanuel 165-97. The women defeated the Vikings 161-105 but fell to the Lions 173-88.
The Falcons were able to place first in six out of the 30 events.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
- The first win for the Falcons came in the women's 100-yard backstroke when Petra Cajkas swam a time of 59.23.
- Will Mahone got the men's team going by swimming a time of 52.08 in the 100-yard backstroke to sweep the 100 Y Back in both events for Montevallo.
- For the third consecutive event, the Falcons took first as Hanna Persson swam the 100-yard breast at a 1:09.19 mark.
- Janek Barczyk and Connor Daigle took the top-two spots in the men's 100-yard breast as both swam under the minute mark at times of 58.15 and 59.37.
- Hanna Persson and Connor Daigle won first-place in the 200-yard breaststroke with times of 2:29.69 and 2:11.09.

The Falcons will next travel to Sewanee, Tn. for the Sewanee Invitational on Oct. 27 and Oct. 28 hosted by Sewanee University.
