MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo men's and women's swimming teams finish in second place in the Sewanee Invitational on Oct. 28.
The men's team took second place out of six with 854.5 points and the women's team placed in second out of seven teams with 571 points.
NOTEABLE PERFORMANCES
- In the second event of the day, the Falcons picked up their first event win in the men's 100-yard medley relay where the team of Will Mahone, Connor Daigle, Kevin Watkins and Juan Celis swam a time of 45.48.
- Janek Barczyk was impressive as he took first place in the 50-yard breast with a time of 26.12, in the 50-yard free coming in at a mark of 21.21, in the 100-yard breast with a time of 57.72.
- Connor Daigle won the 100-yard IM with a time of 54.24.
- The team of Danielle Davis, Isabel Harris, Isa Cabrera Duarte and Cypris Wilkinson took third place in the 100-yard free relay with a time of 49.78.
- Beth Balent swam a time of 4:57.85 in the 400-yard IM to take third place.
UP NEXT
Both swim teams will take on the Birmingham-Southern Panthers on Wednesday, Nov. 4 inside the SAC Natatorium. The Men's team is 4-4 and the women's team is 1-6 against BSC all-time.
