MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo men's and women's swimming teams defeat Birmingham-Southern on Saturday, Nov. 4 inside the SAC Natatorium.
 
The men won by a score of 183-78 and the women were victorious by a score of 143-119. In the wins, Montevallo set six pool records and took first-place in 22 different events.
 
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES

• In the first event of the meet, the tandem of Petra Cajkas, Hanna Persson, Keara McGee and Danielle Davis set the pool record in the 200-yard Medley Relay with a time of 1:53.17.
• In the 100-yard Backstroke, Petra Cajkas and Will Mahone set pool records with times of 58.99 and 51.69. The duo would also dominate the 200-yard Back with two more pool records coming in with times of 2:08.75 and 1:53.60.
• In the 24^th event of the afternoon, Aleksei Kolesnikov broke the UM pool record with a time 50.65 in the 100-yard Fly.
• Harrison Dorsey would take first in the 200-yard IM, swimming a time of 1:59.86.
• In the final event of the day, the team of Juan Celis, Connor Daigle, Jack Rodgers and Jimmy Franck won first-place in the 800-yard Free Relay.

 
UP NEXT
The men's next meet will come on Dec. 9 through Dec. 13 at the DSU Christmas Invitational hosted by Delta State. The women will compete on Wednesday, Nov. 8 when they host the West Florida Argonauts inside the SAC Natatorium.
