MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Montevallo men's tennis drop its season opener to West Alabama, 6-1, on Valentine's Day.
 
The Falcons lost the doubles point to begin the day with Jules Dugue and Paul Sobich falling 6-1 in the opening match. Julius Ziebart and Dylan Kamel along with Phillipe Zehender and Fabricio Sosa all took their matches down to the wire with the Falcons taking losses, 7-5 and 6-4, respectively.
 
Zehender was the lone Falcon to earn a victory in the singles matches with a 6-2, 7-6, 10-6 score. Sobich nearly reached an individual victory until he fell in the third set 10-6. The remaining four Falcons each drop their singles matches in straight sets.
