MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Montevallo men's lacrosse team moved to 6-3 on the season with a 13-11 victory over Quincy on Saturday, March 11.
 
Montevallo fell behind quickly following a Quincy goal at the 13:27 mark. With 9:44 remaining, Scott Friant pulled the Falcons back level with an unassisted goal. QU regained the lead at the 5:40 mark before Chaiton Williams found the back of the net off a pass from Jackson Klewchuk tied the game at two all. Quincy jumped up to a 4-2 advantage after a pair of unanswered until Connor Frederick scored his first of the day on a man-up chance. The Falcons trailed 4-3 after one.
 
Klewchuk evened the game with the first goal of the second period before QU rattled off two in a row to make the score 6-4. Frederick found the mark on another man-up opportunity for his second of the afternoon before Trevayne Hunter got on the board for the first time with 7:37 to go in the half. Brandon Shaffner and Friant gave the Falcons the lead heading into the break, 8-7.
 
Montevallo opened the second half on a five-goal run capped by Hunter's third goal of the game to give the Falcons a 13-7 advantage with six minutes left. Quincy scored its first goal of the second half at the 1:08 mark in the third to trim the lead to just five heading into the fourth.
 
The Falcons' offense was shut down in the fourth quarter with no goals and just 10 shots in the final period. Quincy trimmed the lead down to four with 13:07 remaining. With 1:54 to go, Quiny cut the lead down to one before scoring the final goal of the game at the 1:16 mark. Alex Egorshin's five fourth-quarter saves kept the Falcons just out of reach and gave the team the game, 13-11.

• Hunter and Frederick each posted a hat-trick with three goals apiece while Friant and Williams added two goals each.
• Egorshin saw 60 minutes in goal with 13 saves and 11 goals allowed.
• Montevallo outshot Quincy 62-36 with a 31-24 advantage in shots on goal.
• The Falcons won the turnover battle 22-19.
• Montevallo was nearly perfect in clear attempts, going 21-22.
