TUSCON, Ariz. – The University of Montevallo Baseball team is ranked No. 4 across NCAA Division II in the latest Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Top-30 regular season rankings.
 
Montevallo makes one of the biggest jumps in the poll this week as the squad moves eight spots from No. 12 to No. 4. The Falcons do so after producing a 4-0 record on the week with a mid-week win and a sweep of conference foe AUM.
 
The third edition of the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Regular Season rankings sees the Falcons 211 total points after UM outscored its opponents 57 to 23 on the week.

At 21-4 overall and 10-2 in the league, Montevallo sits in first place atop the Gulf South Conference standings.

No. 4 is the highest ranking for the Falcons in any poll this season. Currently, UM is No. 6 in the NCBWA Top-25 and No. 8 in Perfect Game USA's Top-25. Throughout the program's Division II history, No. 3 is the highest-ranking Montevallo has achieved in the CBN poll. Both rankings in the NCBWA and Perfect Game lists are program bests.

Montevallo is one of three GSC schools in the poll. West Georgia (20-4) is No. 15 and Valdosta State (17-8) is No. 22.

The Falcons return to action, Tuesday, Mar. 21, as the team travels to Rickwood Field for a meeting with Miles College at 1 p.m.
