ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The Montevallo men;s lacrosse team fell in its first Peach Belt Conference contest, 15-9, to Flagler on Saturday.
Flagler opened the scoring with a goal at the 12:48 mark but Montevallo answered just a minute later with
Connor Frederick's first goal of the afternoon to tie the game at 1-1. After FC added a second, Montevallo's
Trevayne Hunter knotted the game at two with an unassisted, man-up goal with 4:34 to play in the first. The Falcons fired five more shots in the final few minutes of the first but went into the second with a 2-2 tie.
Flagler scored three unanswered in the first two minutes of the second before
Scott Friant found the mark at 9:37 to make the score 5-3. The Saints added another goal before Montevallo scored a pair of goals from
Chaiton Williams and Hunter to bring the Falcons back within one, 6-5. Flagler rattled off three more goals to take a 9-5 lead into halftime.
Montevallo allowed four unanswered goals to start the second half and fall behind 13-5 with 10:02 left in the third. Hunter completed his hat trick with a goal at the 7:30 mark before
Gerry York made the score 13-7 with 7:21 to play. The score would hold going into the fourth after four more shots from the Falcons.
After Flagler stretched its lead to 14-7, Frederick found the back of the net for the second time of the day with 10:13 left in the game. Williams looked to spark a late comeback with a goal at the 8:03 mark but a final goal from the Saints closed the door on Montevallo's comeback and gave Flagler the game, 15-9.

GAME NOTES
- Montevallo's offense was led by Trevayne Hunter who scored three goals on five shots with five shots on goal while Chaiton Williams and Connor Frederick added two goal apiece.
- Alex Egorshin got the starting nod in goal and played all 60 minutes with 16 saves.
- The Saints outshot the Falcons 49-38 with a 31-25 advantage on shots on goal.
- Flagler won the turnover battle 16-8 while taking ground balls 24-12.
