MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Montevallo men's lacrosse team fell to Lander, 14-9, on April 1. 
 
Montevallo's 
Jackson Klewchuk broke the ice with the first goal of the game at the 7:07 mark. Lander would go on to score back-to-back goals before 
Chaiton Williams knotted the game at 2 all with an unassisted goal with just 3:08 left in the first. The Bearcats would take a 4-2 advantage into the second after scoring two unanswered to close the quarter. 
 
Off a pass from 
Connor Frederick, 
Trevayne Hunter pulled Montevallo back within one just two minutes into the second. Following a three-goal run from Lander, Klewchuk found the mark on a man-up opportunity for the second time of the day with Hunter credited with the assist. Hunter and Frederick brought the score to 9-6 at the half with a pair of goals to close the quarter. 
 
Falcon midfielder 
Zach Laberge tallied the first goal of the second half off a pass from Hunter at the 13:15 mark. Montevallo's 
Ryan Andrews kept the Falcons within striking distance, 10-8, following a goal from Lander. The Bearcats would go on to score three unanswered to take a 13-8 lead into the final stanza. 
 
Both defenses locked the game at 13-8 for the first 12 minutes of the fourth quarter with Freshman keeper 
Alex Egorshin adding a trio of saves. Lander improved its advantage to 14-8 with just 2:39 to go. Though Klewchuk found the mark with 51 seconds remaining, the lead was too much for Montevallo to overcome as the Falcons fell 14-9.

GAME NOTES
	- Jackson Klewchuk spearheaded the Falcons' offense with three goals on nine shots with four shots on goal while Trevayne Hunter totaled six points with a pair of goals and four assists. 
- Alex Egorshin saw all 60 minutes of actions with 15 saves on 44 shots faced. 
- Montevallo outshot the Bearcats 51-44 while taking face offs, 15-11. 
- The Falcons lost the turnover battle 23-16 but took ground balls, 37-35. 
- Lander just barely edged Montevallo in clears with a 20-23 mark to a 20-24 mark from UM.
