MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Montevallo softball team dropped a pair of GSC contests against West Alabama on Saturday, March 25. 
 
GAME ONE 
West Alabama opened the game with an RBI double in the top of the first to take a 1-0 lead before adding 10 runs in the second to jump out to an 11-0 lead. 
 
The Falcons answered with a Sydney Reaves two-run home run to put Montevallo on the board for the first time of the day. In the next at-bat, Freshman catcher 
Lily Stone blasted one over the left-center fence to cut the deficit to eight after the bottom of the second. 
 
After a two-run third from UWA, 
Shelby Sloan led off the fifth with a solo home run to make the score 13-4 after three innings. 
 
West Alabama plated two more in the in top of the fourth before Montevallo left a runner stranded in the bottom to leave the Falcons with just three outs to trim down a 15-4 lead. 
 
Montevallo staved off any more damage in the top of the fifth. With one runner on and two outs, 
Lauren Hamby doubled into left but a tag at the plate end the game at 15-4.

GAME NOTES
	- The Falcons scored four runs on four hits with four RBI while UWA plated 15 runs on 17 hits with 15 RBI. 
 
	- Freshman Sydney Reaves led the Falcons' offense with two RBI in a 1-for-1 performance at the plate with a home run. 
 
	- Lily Stone hit her first home run of the season while Shelby Sloan hit her eighth of the year. 
 
	- All four of Montevallo's runs came off three Falcon homers. 
 
 
GAME TWO
Montevallo struggles to get the bats going in game two after the Tigers scored a run off a pair of hits in the first. 
 
West Alabama scored five more in the second while Montevallo remained hitless after two. 
 
After six-straight outs in the third, UWA added a seventh run in the fourth and then an eighth in the top of the fifth to leave Montevallo with just three outs to score a run. 
 
Lily Stone spoiled the Tigers no-hitter with a two-out single in the fifth but the Falcons failed to bring her home and fell 8-0.
