Falcons Drop a Pair of Games to No. 18 Mississippi College

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Montevallo softball team dropped a pair of games to No. 18 Mississippi College in the final home series of the regular season.

GAME ONE
In a low-scoring opening game, the Falcons fell 3-1 after MC scored a pair of runs late.

A Georgia Hughes walk followed by an Ellie Derrick single and another walk from Taylor Robinson loaded the bases. With a sacrifice fly, Alisha Lanyon drove in the first run of the day to give Montevallo a 1-0 lead after three.

Lloyd held Mississippi College scoreless through the next two innings while Montevallo's offense failed to add on to the lead.

MC tied the game with a run in the sixth and, after a quick Falcon at-bat, took the lead, 3-1 with a two-run seventh.

Montevallo managed to put two runners on in the bottom of the seventh, but three-straight outs left the Falcons with a game one loss.
