MONTEVALLO, Ala. - The University of Montevallo athletic department has announced the addition of Stevie Szucs to the media relations staff as the assistant media relations director.

Szucs joins Montevallo after serving as the assistant to the sports information director at Columbus State University for two years. Stevie created social media content for various sports teams, created videos for baseball and softball's video board, public address announced for baseball, softball, basketball, and soccer, and helped keep official statistics for many home events. While at CSU, he helped earn the athletic department their first, Sports Information Department of the Year, award in Columbus State history. 

"We are excited to announce the addition of Stevie to our department," said Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations Wyatt Hall. "Stevie shined throughout the hiring process. He brings a passion for the industry and has demonstrated his skills successfully while at Columbus State. He will allow our office to succeed tremendously."

Before joining the athletic department, he played for the Cougars in the 2021 season as a right-handed pitcher in the bullpen. 

Szucs will serve as the primary contact for softball, volleyball, men's and women's swimming, and men's and women's track and field.
