Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MONTEVALLO, Ala. - The University of Montevallo volleyball team drops their first two matches of the season in the UT Tyler Invitational in Tyler, Tx.

In the first match, Montevallo lost to the tournament host, the University of Texas at Tyler, 0-3.

The Falcons ended the first day of the tournament with a loss at the hands of Harding University 0-3.

Brooklyn Hudson totaled 17 kills, Megan Schram compiled 24 digs and Colton Thompson had 30 assist on the day.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Set 1

• UT Tyler started the match by jumping out to a 7-1 lead.
• After six kills from Montevallo and a attack error by the Patriots, the Falcons battled back to make it 8-12.
• The Patriots went on to win the set 25-15 with a hitting percentage of .241.

Set 2

• UT Tyler dominated the set by hitting at a .389 clip.
• The Falcons total eight kills in the set with a -.077 hit percentage.
• Aliyah Thompson, Brooklyn Hudson and Alex Koontz combined for seven out of the eight kills in the set.

Set 3

• Montevallo opened the third set with a 6-4 lead started by two straight kills from Danielle Greene.
• After three straight points from the Patriots, UM tied the match up at nine a piece with a kill from Macy Martin and Morgan Hoffman.
• From there, UT Tyler scored nine straight points to make it 18-9 in favor of the Patriots.
• Montevallo battled back to make it 14-20 with three attack errors by UT Tyler but the Patriots were able to put the game away with two kills to end the match.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Set 1

• Harding jumped out to a 6-0 lead to start the match with two kills and some Falcon miscues.
• Harding scored nine straight points after a Montevallo made the score 3-7 to extend their lead to 16-3.
• Montevallo battled back to make it 16-21 led by two Morgan Hoffman kills.

Set 2

• The Falcons grabbed the early 4-1 lead with kills from Macy Martin and Brooklyn Hudson.
• Seven lead changes, 50 total points, and 16 kills highlighted the second set all while both teams had negative hitting percentages.
• Brooklyn Hudson had three kills in the set while Kamble Frenette had two.
• Harding went on to win the set with three attack errors by the Falcons.

Set 3

• To start the third set, the first three kills for the Falcons came from Brooklyn Hudson.
• Montevallo tied the set at 9-9 with two kills from Morgan Hoffman.
• After the set was tied at 20-20, Harding pulled away with five straight points to down the Falcons.
• Both teams had 13 kills.
