MONTEVALLO, Ala – The University of Montevallo volleyball team is looking for their second consecutive road GSC win as they take on Shorter, Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 5:00 p.m.

Montevallo is coming off their first conference loss of the season at the hands of the University of Alabama in Huntsville. In the match, the Falcons had eight total blocks which is their highest amount of any match during the season.

About Montevallo
The Falcons will look to replicate the last match against Shorter where they swept the Hawks on Sept. 23 last season. UM also had eight service aces in the match along with striking at a .234 clip.
The Falcons currently sit in sixth place in the GSC with a 1-1 record and are 1-2 on the road this season.
Montevallo is currently eighth in the conference with 484 kills on the season while they are ninth in team hitting percentage at .137. Senior
Macy Martin leads the Falcons on the season with 88 kills while striking at a .160 rate.
UM had a season-high eight total blocks against UAH in their last match as

Allie Dishman all had four block assists. Dishman leads the Falcons with 22 blocks on the season.
Scouting Shorter
The Hawks own a 3-7 record on the season and are 0-3 in GSC match play so far this season. Shorter is 10
th in the GSC with a .116 hit percentage and is in last in the conference with 33 total blocks.
SU is led by Laila Bernardino who is 10
th in the GSC with 71 kills for the Hawks and Caroline Sivills who has 69.
Marysa Ocampo is their leading assister this season with 167 while Claudia Loyola is ninth in the conference with 108 digs.
A bright spot for the Hawks has been service aces where they are seventh in the conference. Marysa Ocampo, Mia Alexander and Claudia Loyola have over 10 for the season.
First serve is schedule for 6:00 p.m. CT at the Winthrop-King Centre in Rome, Ga.
