MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo volleyball team comebacks from a 0-2 deficit to defeat the Shorter Hawks 3-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1
- An evenly played first set saw the score at 12-11 in favor of Shorter.
- The Hawks jumped to a huge lead by going on a 9-3 run to make it 21-14.
- Montevallo clawed back in it to make it 18-22 but Shorter put the set away with three points, all of which were kills.
Set 2
- Shorter out-hit the Falcons -.025 to .182 in the second set.
- The Falcons jumped out to a 5-2 lead to capture the early lead.
- The Hawks took the next four points to take the lead at 6-5.
- During a 4-0 run, Montevallo responded with another lead change to take a 12-9 advantage.
- Shorter took the next six out of seven points as the back-and-fourth set continued.
- SU held onto the lead to win the set at 25-22 to take a 2-0 match advantage.
Set 3
- The Hawks were looking to put away the Falcons early as they leaped out to an 8-2 lead.
- Montevallo climbed back into the set coming off of a timeout and took the next 10 out of 11 points.
- Shorter didn't go away quietly as the lead changed six times through the end of the third set.
- The Falcons won the set by forcing an attack error on the Hawks.
Set 4
- Montevallo dominated the fourth set by the widest margin of any set the Falcons have won this year (25-8).
- The Falcons out-hit the Hawks .313 to -.031.
- Up 6-4, Montevallo took the next 17 out of 19 points to take a 24-8 lead and they took the set a point after tying up the match at 2-2.
Set 5
- Both teams exchanged points to make it 3-3.
- The Falcons jumped out to an 8-3 lead with four kills and an ace from UM.
- After making it 9-4, the Hawks went on a run of their own to make it 10-9 with the Falcons on top.
- Tied at 13-13, a kill from Kamble Frenette gave the Falcons the advantage until a service error from Montevallo tied the set up at 14 all.
- A kill from Macy Martin and Kamble Frenette downed the Hawks in what was the Falcons first reverse sweep of the season.
