JACKSON, MS – The University of Montevallo men's and women's swimming teams picked up their first wins of the season against Millsaps on Saturday, Oct. 12.
The men's team defeated Millsaps by a score of 189-50. The women's side won 197-51.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
- The Falcons totaled 26 first-place finishes.
- Montevallo started the meet off with first-place victories in the men's and women's 200 medley relay with a time of 1:40.36 on the men's side while the women swam a time of 1:54.64.
- In the women's 50 back, Petra Cajkas took first with a time of 28.12 which is the seventh fastest time in program history.
- Cajkas would swim another top-10 time in program history in the 100 back with the eighth fastest time of 1:00.02. In the 100 IM, Cajkas swam the fourth fastest time in UM history at 1:02.63.
- In the men's 100 IM, Enrique Llorens swam a first-place time of 55.37. The time is fifth fastest in program history.
- The Falcons ended the meet with two first-place times in the men's and women's 200 free relays. The team of Ella Brook Beasley, Alexandria Morgan, Cypris Wilkinson and Liz Davis swam a time of 1:49.61. Jimmy Franck, Jake Swan, Ben Johnson and Tofer Vangorder swam a time of 1:32.59.
