FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – The University of Montevallo men's and women's swimming teams went a combined 3-3 against Berry, Emmanuel and Converse on Saturday, Oct. 19.
The men's team defeated Berry 141-121 but lost to Emmanuel 82-180 and Converse 126-136. The women's side won against Berry and Converse 148-113 and 135-125 but lost to Emmanuel 94-167.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
- In the first event of the meet, the team of Petra Cajkas, Hanna Persson, Beth Balent and Keara McGee swam a time of 1:53.71 in the 200 medley relay which is the ninth fastest time in UM history.
- Cajkas would swim a time of 59.41 in the 100 back for the seventh best time in program history. She would also notch the fifth fastest time in the 200 back with a time of 2:10.64.
- In the women's 200 back, Maja Krawczyk placed in third behind Cajkas with a time of 2:13.41. Her time would be the eighth fastest in UM history.
- Alexandria Morgan swam the 10th quickest time in Montevallo history in the 500 free with a time of 5:21.74. She placed in first for the event.
- Keara McGee earned a second-place finish in the 100 fly with a time of 58.33. The time was the third fastest in UM history and she now owns the top three times in UM history in that event.
- The tandem of Cypris Wilkinson, Petra Cajkas, Tabitha Nalepa and Keara McGee pulled together a time of 1:43.12 in 200 free relay which is the eighth fastest time in that event in UM history.
- Beth Balent won first in the 200 fly with a time of 2:14.16.
- Alexander Kim took first-place with a time of 47.93 in the 100 free.
