Montevallo Players of the Week Presented by Jacks: Week of Oct. 21

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – University of Montevallo men's swimming's Alexander Kim and women's soccer's Shadia Valenzuela have been named Montevallo Players of the Week presented by Jacks for the week of Oct. 21st.

ALEXANDER KIM (Men's Swimming)

Kim dominated the lanes for Montevallo at the Tri-Meet hosted by Emmanuel University (Ga.) on Oct. 19th, placing first in the men's 100-yard freestyle with a swim time of 47.93. Kim also placed third in the men's 200-yard freestyle with a swim time of 1:45.42. Additionally, Kim helped lead his team to a fourth place finish in the men's 200-yard freestyle relay with a collective swim time of 1:30.49. Lastly, Kim and his team placed fourth in the 200-yard medley relay with a swim time of 1:37.35, just .30 seconds away from placing third.

SHADIA VALENZUELA (Women's Soccer)

Valenzuela was resilient in the Falcon's duel against Lee University on Oct. 16th and Trevecca Nazarene on Oct. 19th. Valenzuela finished with nine shots and two shots on goal in sixty-one minutes in the loss against the Lee University Lady Flames. However, Valenzuela was all gas, no brakes against the Trevecca Nazarene Trojans. Valenzuela finished with one goal, one assist and one shot on goal in thirty-eight minutes against the Trojans, leading the Falcon's to the 3-0 victory.
