MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo volleyball team looks to defend home court as they take on Lee on Friday, Oct. 25 and Trevecca Nazarene on Saturday, Oct. 26.

Ava Wind led the way with 20 digs, six aces and three assists.

About Montevallo
After their win on Tuesday, the Falcons find themselves at 6-5 in GSC play. Two huge matches are on the horizon as they take on Lee, who is ahead of UM in the standings at 7-4, and Trevecca Nazarene, who is tied with the Falcons at 6-5. Montevallo will be seeking their 10
th win of the 2024 season this weekend.
Danielle Greene has strung together back-to-back matches with nine kills, a hitting percentage of .300 or better and at least five total blocks. Greene has the highest hitting percentage on the season for UM at .269 (9
th in the GSC) and is third in the conference with 83 total blocks. With six aces on Tuesday against West Alabama,
Ava Wind is now sixth in the Gulf South with 29 aces. Along with her services ace, Wind is third in the conference with 330 digs.
This is Montevallo's second matchup against Lee and Trevecca Nazarene this season. On Sept. 27, the Falcons fell to the Trojans in four sets in Nashville, TN. In the match,
Nikol Antova had 16 kills and 16 digs. The following day, the Falcons defeated Lee in five sets in Cleveland, TN. Antova had 25 kills against the Flames and
Colton Thompson picked up 28 assists.
Scouting Lee
The Flames come in with a 13-10 overall record and 7-4 in GSC play. Lee has won their last five out of six matches with their lone loss coming against West Florida on Oct. 18. In their most recent match, they took down Christian Brothers in four sets. Each set the Flames won, they held the Buccaneers to under 20 points.
Payton Danley comes in as the reigning GSC Freshman of the Week. Danley has the third most kills on the team with 154 and she has the most total blocks on the team with 59. Sara Palumbo is third in the conference with 266 kills on the season while she adds 36 aces (tied for 2
nd in the GSC). Palumbo is coming off a double-double with 21 kills and 12 digs against CBU on Oct. 22.
Against Lee, UM is 11-5 all-time and has won their previous eight matches against the Flames. At home in Central State Bank Arena, Montevallo is 5-1 against LU.
Scouting Trevecca Nazarene
The Trojans come into the weekend tied with Montevallo in the GSC standings with a 6-5 record. TNU is 4-4 in their last eight matches and are coming off a victory in their most recent match against Union on Oct. 22 where they won in four sets.
Trevecca Nazarene is led by Preseason All-GSC pick Emma Titus who has the most kills on the team with 238. Titus currently has a five-match double-digit kill streak. Reese Payne leads the Gulf South with 95 total blocks on the season. As a team, Trevecca Nazarene has the second most blocks in the conference with 188.
Against the Trojans, Montevallo is 4-2 all-time. This will be the second match in history that Trevecca will play in Montevallo. In the lone home matchup against TNU, the Falcons won 3-0 in 1993.
