About Montevallo
After this past weekend, the Falcons are now 6-7 in GSC play and are seventh in the conference. Montevallo is their first match of a three-match road trip and will take on Mississippi College who is tied for third at 9-4. Earlier this season on Oct. 1, UM was defeated by the Choctaws in four sets. The falcons are seeking their 10
th win of the season.
Nikol Antova had success against MC in their previous matchup as she had 19 kills and 15 digs against the Choctaws. Antova is second in the Gulf South with 296 kills and second with 334.5 points. She trails Mississippi College's Lydia Paulette in both statistics.
Blakeley Robbins was one assist shy of 40 against Lee on Oct. 25. In her last four matches, the Freshman from Daphne, Alabama has 95 assists, seven aces, 24 digs and four kills.
Danielle Greene is currently third in the conference in total blocks and is just six blocks shy of 100 this season.
Against Mississippi College, Montevallo is 11-5 all-time but is only 1-3 on the road. Their previous matchup in Clinton, Mississippi came on Nov. 4, 2022 where the Choctaws defeated the Falcons in five sets.
Scouting Mississippi College
The Choctaws come into Tuesday's match winners of their last four out of five matches including three sweeps. They are currently in a tie for third place with Valdosta State in the GSC with a 9-4 conference record. In their most recent matchup, MC with downed by the Auburn Montgomery Warhawks in five sets.
Lydia Paulette is a handful on the outside as she has the most kills (319) and the most points (369) in the Gulf South Conference. Paulette has double-digit kills in all but one match this season and has recorded seven double-doubles in kills and digs. Ali Wiggins has the most assists for the Choctaws with 380 while Samarin Kipple leads the team with 295 digs.
Mississippi College allows the third lowest number of kills and service aces from opponents in the GSC. As a team, the Choctaws allow the least amount of opponent blocks in the GSC with only 108.
