MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo volleyball team returns to Central State Bank Arena as part of a three-match home stand starting with Christian Brothers on Friday, Nov. 8 and Union on Saturday, Nov. 9.

Montevallo battled it out with West Florida who earned the top seed in the GSC tournament. The Falcons fell in three sets to the Argonauts.
Brooklyn Hudson led UM with nine kills while
Blakeley Robbins had 18 assists and three digs.

About Montevallo
The Falcons will look to some home cooking as they are in the final two weeks of the regular season. Montevallo is currently tied for seventh place in the Gulf South with a 6-10 conference record. They are tied with Union who they play on Saturday. At home against Christian Brothers, Montevallo is 11-2 all-time. Against the Bulldogs in Central State Bank Arena, the Falcons are 4-1.
Montevallo will be looking to start off hot as they are 8-4 on the season when they take the first set.
Danielle Greene is seeking a 100/100 season as she has 144 kills and 97 total blocks (fourth in the GSC).
Ava Wind is third in the Gulf South with 393 digs and she adds a team-leading 33 aces which is 11
th in the GSC. As a team, the Falcons are fifth in the Gulf South with 1,059 assists, 1,139 kills and 179.5 total blocks.
Earlier this season, the Falcons defeated the Buccaneers in three sets. In the match,
Nikol Antova had 13 kills while
Ava Wind had 21 digs, seven assists and an ace. Against Union on Oct. 11, Montevallo won in four sets.
Colton Thompson and
Blakeley Robbins combined for 46 assists and 20 digs.
Scouting Christian Brothers
CBU is on the outside looking in as they currently have the 10th spot in the GSC with a 3-13 GSC record. The Bucs are 1-2 in their last three matches including a win in five sets over Trevecca Nazarene. In their most recent match, they lost in four sets to Auburn Montgomery on Nov. 1.
Ella Schumacher leads CBU with 285 kills which is fourth in the GSC. Against the Falcons, Schumacher had eight kills earlier this season. Sarah Allyn Thornell is third in the Gulf South with 808 assists and had 23 against UM and she added three blocks and eight digs. As a team, CBU is seventh in the conference with 1,070 kills and fifth with 169 service aces. The Buccaneers are last in the GSC in total blocks with 120.
Against the Bucs, UM is 27-9 all-time against the Falcons. In Central State Bank Arena, CBU is 2-11 and has not won in Montevallo since 2008.
Scouting Union
The Bulldogs come into Saturday's match tied with Montevallo for seventh place in the Gulf South with a 6-10 conference record. Union is currently on a three-match winning streak as they defeated Lee in four sets, Christian Brothers in five sets and UU is fresh off a seep of Auburn Montgomery on Nov. 2. The Bulldogs have a better record on the road than they do at home as they are 5-3 away compared to 3-14 in Jackson, TN.
Reese Owens leads the Bulldogs with 265 kills and she had a double-double against Montevallo earlier this season with 10 kills, 14 digs. Owens has a double-double int wo of her last three matches. Ashley Pruitt is fifth in the Gulf South with 722 assists. Pruitt has contributed 42 kills and 16 aces.
Against the Bulldogs, Montevallo is 8-3 all-time and is on a four-match win streak against Union. At home, UM is 4-1 including a win last season when the two teams squared off in Montevallo.
