MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Montevallo women's tennis dropped its first match of the season to Division I Alabama State, 7-0, on Tuesday afternoon.
The match began with a loss from Lieselotte Hartlohner and
Klara Podskubkova in the No. 1 doubles match before
Greta Vagnini and
Claire Jaramba fell in the No. 2 doubles 6-2. In the final doubles match,
Johanna Kullman and
Latizia Bojara put up a good fight but would eventually fall, 6-4.
Podskubkova highlighted the singles matches for Montevallo with a tough three set loss in the top singles match by a score of 6-7, 6-4, 8-10 while Vagnini took the No. 6 singles match to three sets with a 6-4, 1-6, 2-6 loss. Bojara battled in the No. 3 singles with a 6-7, 4-6 loss while
London Breedlove dropped her match 3-6, 3-6.
The Falcons are back in action with a match at Bethel on Feb. 16.
