MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Montevallo men's tennis opened the conference season with a 5-2 win at Christian Brothers on Saturday.
The Falcons took the doubles point after
Philippe Zehender and
Leonidas Lazarides took the No. 2 doubles match 6-3.
Vittorio Noli and
Ryota Nakajima secured the team point with a 6-4 win in No. 3 doubles.
The Falcons dropped the first two singles matches before
Simon Luigs battled for a 3-6, 7-6, 6-1 win in the third singles slot. Noli added a second singles point with a 6-3, 7-6 win while
Sam Parsons recorded a 6-3, 6-4 win in No. 6 singles. Nakajima capped the match with a 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 win in No. 5 singles.
Montevallo will continue conference play with a trip to Cleveland, Miss. to take on Delta State on Feb. 24.
