Montevallo Moves to 2-0 in GSC Play With 5-2 Victory

Box Score CLEVELAND, Miss. – Montevallo men's tennis improved to 2-0 in Gulf South Conference action with a 5-2 win over Delta State on the road.
 
The match began with a 3-0 sweep in the doubles matches from the Falcons with Simon Luigs and Sam Parsons 6-3 win in the top slot. No. 2 doubles saw a 6-4 win from Gabriel Variano and Ryota Nakajima while Vittorio Noli and Samuel Maia added a 6-2 win in No. 3 doubles. 
 
Luigs continued a strong showing with a 6-2, 6-2 win in the No. 2 singles match while Noli took a 6-3, 6-1 win in No. 3 singles. Nakajima's 6-2, 6-3 victory in the fourth singles match secured Montevallo's victory before Parsons added 4-6, 6-3, 10-6 win to punctuate the 5-2 team win.
 
Montevallo heads to Columbus, Ga. for a meeting with Columbus State on March 2 at 2 p.m.
