Davis Sets 50 yard free record in Day Two Prelims

CLEVELAND, Miss. - The Montevallo men's and women's swimming teams returned to the pool Wednesday for prelims in day two of the New South Intercollegiate Swim Conference Championships. 

This most notable performance from Wednesday's prelims for the Falcons came from senior Danielle Davis in the 50 yard free. Davis swam a time 23.93 to set a school record and finish 11th overall. 

Aside from the 50 free, Petra Cajkas placed ninth in the prelims of the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:09.07. 

On the men's side, Connor Daigle swam 1:51.86 in the 200 yard IM for seventh place. In the 50 yard free, Juan Celis swam 20.64 and finished 10th. 

The Falcons return to the pool at 5 p.m. Wednesday night for day two finals.
