CLEVELAND, Miss. – In the day five prelims at the New South Intercollegiate Swim Conference championship,
Juan Celis and
Petra Cajkas broke two school records while
Will Mahone posted a B-cut time. In finals,
Will Mahone was crowned NSISC conference champion.
In the second event of prelims,
Juan Celis posted a school record and NCAA B-cut time of 44.60 in the 100-yard free. Celis finished fourth in the event.
In the following event,
Petra Cajkas broke the school record in the 200-yard back as she swam a time of 2:03.59 to place in second.
Will Mahone was able to win first-place and posted a school record in the 200-yard back with a time of 1:46.49.
Hanna Persson placed in third in the 200-yard breast with a time of 2:23.18. Also, in the 200-yard breast,
Connor Daigle swim a time of 2:01.78 to place in fourth.
In the first event of finals,
Keara McGee set a school record in the 100-yard free with a time of 52.46. McGee dropped .38 second off her time.
Will Mahone was crowned conference champion in the 200-yard back with a first-place time of 1:46.48. Mahone was ahead of the second-place finisher by 1.10 seconds.
Hanna Persson broke the school record in the 200-yard breast with a time of 2:21.55. Persson dropped 1.63 seconds off her time.
Connor Daigle set a new school record and a NCAA B-cut time of 2:00.71 in the 200-yard breast. Daigle placed fourth in the event and dropped 1.07 of his time.
The team of
Juan Celis,
Jimmy Franck,
Aleksei Kolesnikov and
Jack Rodgers set a school record in the 400-yard free relay with a time of 3:05.02.
