Ariana Pinder Continues Hot Stretch as Softball Competes at the Charger Chillout

ALBERTVILLE, Ala. –  The University of Montevallo softball team falls to both Young Harris College and Trevecca Nazarene on Thursday, Feb. 8 at Albertville, Ala.
 
GAME ONE
Young Harris came out of the gates swinging as they put a two spot on the Falcons in the first. They would tack one on in the top of the third via error. Freshman Kendall Channell would come through for the Falcons with two outs as she ripped a double down the left field line to score Madison Fargo and Maddie Taylor. The Mountain Lions would strike down with four in the fourth with most of their damage coming off a two-run homers.
 
Maddie Taylor would knock an RBI-double to left to help claw the Falcons back into the game. Kendall Channell would earn her first multi-hit game of her career with a single up the middle to score Ariana Pinder.
 
Ariana Pinder is scorching hot at the dish right now as she added a 3 for 3 performance including a sac-bunt and three singles.
 
Bentlee Stiner would double into the outfield gap to score Madison Fargo and Olivia Bergert. Young Harris would add another two-run homer in the sixth to put Montevallo away.

GAME NOTES
  • With two hits against Young Harris, Kendall Channell picks up her first multi-hit game of her career.
  • Ariana Pinder had a career game as she had three hits which is the most hits for her in the game in her Falcon career.
  • Maddie Taylor had a multi-hit game while she picked up an RBI.
  • Bentlee Stiner launched a two RBI-double in the fifth to pick up her second and third RBI of the season.

GAME TWO
Montevallo would draw first blood as Sydnee Reaves would hit a ball over the head of the left fielder to plate Ariana Pinder who reached with her fourth single of the day. Kendall Channell would lace her second double of the day to stake the Falcons to a 2-0 lead. The Trojans would hit a solo home run to take one back in the bottom half of the first.
 
The flaming hot Ariana Pinder would come through for UM again with her fifth single of the day in the second inning to score Lily Stone. Trevecca would stay in it and not let the Falcons get too far ahead as they scratched across one in the third inning as they manufactured a run with a sac-fly.
 
UM would get hot at the dish as Bentlee Stiner started the inning off with a double into the right center gap. Molly Pendley would drive her in with an RBI-triple to the right center wall. Ansley Hudson would score Pendley with an infield single to put UM ahead by three.
 
Madison Fargo would add onto the lead with another double to score Olivia Bergert. Fargo would score the batter after with a single up the middle off the bat of Bentlee Stiner.
 
The later innings would be fatal for Montevallo as Trevecca cashed in on three, two RBI hits to take the lead in the bottom of the sixth. They would retire the Falcons in order in the seventh.
