ALBERTVILLE, Ala. – The University of Montevallo softball team earns a victory over Kentucky Wesleyan but loses to Lincoln Memorial in the night cap of day two of the UAH Charger Chillout.
GAME ONE
In Kentucky Wesleyan's first game of the season, they came out amped up and homered in the first inning to take the lead. In the bottom of the second,
Bentlee Stiner tied the game up with one of her three singles in the game to drive home
Lily Stone. A batter later,
Molly Pendley would give the Falcons the lead with an RBI-ground out to the shortstop.
Tied 2-2, KWC would take the lead with their second home run of the game. The bottom of the fifth, Montevallo got hot at the plate as they scored three runs on three hits.
Bentlee Stiner got the inning started with another single up the middle. After reaching second on a wild pitch, Stiner would advance to third off a sac-bunt from
Molly Pendley. She would score off another bunt from
Skylar Johnson.
Sydnee Reaves would triple into the right center gap and would score after
Kendall Channell singled to center. Montevallo would tack on another in the sixth inning with an RBI-single from
Bentlee Stiner.
Taylor Lloyd had a career day for the Falcons as she tossed a dominant outing. Lloyd fanned a career-high 10 batters as she went 6.2 innings. Taylor had a strike out in every inning today. In the first inning, she struck out three batters swinging. Lloyd would pick up three more strike outs in the third inning. Taylor would earn her first win of the season as she scattered seven hits while she walked none.
Rachel Whiddon would earn her second save of the season as she recorded the last out of the game.

GAME TWO
Molly Pendley would get the scoring started with a double to right center to score the scorching hot
Bentlee Stiner. Pendley would score off LMU trying to throw out
Ansley Hudson who stole second base. Lincoln Memorial would take one back with a two-out single.
The Falcons would double their lead in the third inning with a two-RBI single off the bat of
Lily Stone. This is her second game this season with a hit that earned two RBI. The Railsplitters would take a run back in the bottom half with a double to center.
Molly Pendley would pick up her second RBI of the game with a sacrifice fly to center field to score
Kendall Channell.
Lincoln Memorial would load the bases up with no outs in the bottom half of the fifth with two singles and a walk. Falcon starter,
Rachel Whiddon, would strike out the next two batters. After a single up the middle that scored two, the Falcon defense would make an error causing the runner from first to score to tie the game at 5-5. LMU would pick up the winning run of another Falcon miscue.
