BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – University of Montevallo men's golf's Eric Boutwell has been named the Gulf South Conference Golfer of the Week, as announced by the league office, Thursday.
 
A native of Russellville, Alabama, Boutwell finished tied-fourth at the Matlock Collegiate Invitational at even-par, to lead Montevallo to a tied-ninth finish.
 
Boutwell shot 72, 71, and 73 during the three-round event at Lone Palm Golf Club in Lakeland, Florida.
 
This is the juniors second Golfer of the Week award this season.
 
Boutwell and the Falcons will return to action Feb. 19, in the Saint Leo Invitational at Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club in Saint Leo, Florida.
