MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Montevallo women's tennis snapped a five-match losing streak with a 5-2 win over West Georgia.
The Falcons dropped the doubles point despite
Klara Podskubkova and Lieselotte Hartlohner winning the top doubles match 6-1. Freshman
Claire Jaramba and sophomore
Greta Vagnini battled in the No. 2 match but fell 6-4. A loss in the third match gave UWG the first team point of the match.
The Wolves took the top singles match before Jaramba added a 6-3, 6-3 win in the No. 2 singles match while Hartlohner earned a 6-2, 6-1 victory in the third match.
London Breedlove's 7-5, 6-2 win in the No. 4 slot put the Falcons one point away from the victory. A 6-4, 6-3 win from
Johanna Kullman secured Montevallo's victory while
Latizia Bojara added the fifth and final point for the Falcons with a 2-6, 6-4, 7-5 win in No. 5 singles.
