Box Score 2 HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Montevallo baseball earned a pair of wins in Huntsville, Alabama, Saturday, in extra-innings fashion.
The Falcons topped UAH 9-6 with three runs in the 10
th inning and extended its win streak to six games with a 7-6 win in eight innings in game two.
GAME 1 INFORMATION

Three runs in the 10
th inning lifted the Falcons to a 9-6 extra-inning win over UAH, on Saturday, in game one of the series.
UAH struck first in the second inning and added another run in the third to lead, 2-0. In the top of the fourth, a two-run homer by
Ethan Huddleston tied the score 2-2.
After UAH regained the lead 3-2 in the bottom of the fourth,
Zen Hiatt evened the score for UM with a solo homer.
An RBI double by Huddleston scored a run and put the Falcons on top 4-3. An ensuing error by the Chargers allowed two runs to score for Montevallo, pushing the lead to 6-3.
In the bottom of the ninth, UAH scored three runs to tie and force extras.
Huddleston added his fourth RBI of the day in the 10
th as he put the Falcons ahead 7-6 with a single. In a pinch-hit at bad, freshman Peyton Stephenson delivered an RBI single to push the lead to 8-6. A sacrifice fly for Hiatt closed out the scoring in the frame and gave UM a 9-6 lead going into the bottom of the 10
th.
Connor Phelan closed the 10
th out for the Falcons and earned his third save of the year.
GAME NOTES
- Ethan Huddleston led the Falcons at the plate as he finished 3-for-5 with four RBI.
- Logan Harbin added three hits and went 3-for-5 from the plate.
- Chris Foster earned his third win on the mound and moved to 3-1 on the year.
- Connor Phelan picked up his third save of the season.
- Montevallo scored nine runs on 11 hits while UAH added six runs on 12 hits.
GAME 2 INFORMATION

Much like game one, UAH struck first in game two, to lead 1-0. Montevallo quickly answered back in the top of the second with an RBI single from
Brandon Moore and a
Evan Kirk sacrifice fly to lead 2-1.
In the bottom of the fifth, UAH's offense added three runs to lead Montevallo 5-2
The Montevallo offense responded in the next inning with four runs to go ahead 6-5. RBI singles from
Evan Liddie and
Ethan Huddleston led to the four-run frame.
With a 6-5 lead in the sixth, UAH scraped across a run, and once again the game extended into extra innings after a scoreless seventh.
In the eighth inning,
Connor Crowson opened the frame with an RBI single to put the Falcons on top, 7-6.
Dawson Hargrove earned the win on the mound in the eighth as he struck out his third batter.
GAME NOTES
- Connor Crowson had a monster game as he went 4-for-5 with two RBI, including the go-ahead run in the eighth.
- Dawson Hargrove threw two and one-third innings and struck out three to earn his first win of the year.
