Box Score HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The University of Montevallo baseball team completed the series sweep over UAH, Sunday, Mar. 24, 5-2, for the seventh straight win.
The Falcons' pitching staff quieted a UAH offense that is top five in the Gulf South Conference, by holding the Chargers to just two runs on 10 hits. In the end, the depth of Montevallo shined with a trio of pinch-hit RBI at-bats in UM's four-run eighth inning.
In what was a pitchers' duel for the first three innings, the host Chargers struck first in the fourth, to lead 1-0. In response, catcher
Christian Kallaher doubled to left field, and drove in a run to tie the score, 1-1.
UAH regained the lead briefly in the seventh, 2-, but a pinch-hit RBI single by
Zen Hiatt in the top of the eighth evened the score, 2-2. In the next at-bat, another pinch hitter,
Khalil Bell, doubled to left-center to put Montevallo on top 3-2 for the first lead of the game.
Wyatt Cunningham capped off a trio of Falcon pinch hitters in the inning and delivered a two-RBI seeing-eye single up the middle to push the lead to five-two.
Michael Morse through two scoreless innings late in the game to earn his first win of the year while
Chris Foster picked up his fourth save.

- Starter Gino Cozzi turned in a quality start on the mound with 6.2 innings pitched, six K's and just two runs allowed.
- Michael Morse pitched two clean innings in relief and earned the win, his first of the year.
- Chris Foster faced one batter in the ninth, in a bases-loaded situation, to earn his team-leading fourth save of the season.
