MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Montevallo men's tennis fell to No. 10 West Florida, 6-1, on Saturday afternoon.
The Falcons lost the doubles point with the No. 1 and No. 3 matches going the way of UWF by a score of 6-1.
Philippe Zehender and
Leonidas Lazarides battled in the No. 2 match but eventually fell 6-4.
Lazarides tallied Montevallo's lone team point with a win by retirement after UWF's top singles player could not finish the match. Zehender dropped the No. 2 singles match 6-1, 6-1, before
Simon Luigs fell in the third match, 6-3, 6-4.
Ryota Nakajima took one game away from UWF's No. 4 player but dropped the match 6-0, 6-1. Finally,
Samuel Maia and Sam Parson fell in the No. 5 and No. 6 matches by scores of 6-2, 6-2 and 6-1, 6-2, respectively.
Montevallo returns to the courts on Wednesday, March 16 to take on Valdosta State in Montevallo, Ala. at 2 p.m.
