MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Montevallo women's tennis fell to 1-2 in Gulf South Conference play after a 5-2 loss to No. 17 West Florida.
In the top doubles slot,
Klara Podskubkova and Leiselotte Hartlohner came away with a 6-4 win before
Claire Jaramba and
Greta Vagnini fell by the same score in the second match. UWF took the doubles point with a 6-1 win over
Latizia Bojara and
Johanna Kullman in the No. 3 doubles match.
Podskubkova tallied her second win of the day with a 6-4, 6-2 win in the No. 1 singles match for the Falcons first team point of the match. Kullman added another Falcon point with a 6-4, 6-4 win in the No. 6 match. Jaramba battled in the No. 2 singles match but eventually fell 7-6, 6-4 while Hartlohner put up a fight in the No. 3 singles match but lost 6-4, 3-6, 7-6. Bojara also went three sets in the No. 5 match but took a 0-6, 7-5, 3-6 loss while
London Breedlove fell 7-5, 6-3 in the fourth singles match.
Montevallo returns to the courts on Wednesday, March 16 to take on Valdosta State in Montevallo, Ala. at 2 p.m.
