MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Montevallo men's tennis dropped its final match of the regular season to Auburn Montgomery, 6-1, on the road.
The Falcons fell in the doubles matches with
Samuel Maia and
Leonidas Lazarides falling 6-3 before
Philippe Zehender and
Simon Luigs fell by the same score.
Freshman
Ryota Nakajima tallied the lone Falcon singles win with a 6-2, 7-5 victory in the No. 6 singles match. In the No. 4 singles match,
Vittorio Noli forced three sets but would eventually lose the match 7-5, 4-6, 4-10. Maia battled in the No. 3 match but dropped another point with a 3-6, 6-7 loss. The Falcons fell in the top singles match and, with losses in the No. 2 and No. 5 match, dropped the final regular season match.
The Falcons enter the post season for the first round of the Gulf South Conference tournament set for Saturday, April 27.
