MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo softball drops their first game against the West Florida Argonauts on Friday, Apr. 12 at Orr Park in Montevallo, Ala.
 
West Florida homered in the first inning to capture the early momentum. In the bottom half of the first, Sydnee Reaves touched them all with her 15^th home run of the season to bring the Falcons within one. The Argonauts hit their second homer of the ballgame to go up 5-1 in the top of the second.
 
UWF was relentless at the plate and didn't give up any at bats as they scored 10 runs in the third and fourth innings combined. Rachel Whiddon did a great job in relief as she got the final four out for the Falcons. Whiddon pitched 1.1 innings and allowed no runs and scattered two hits.

GAME NOTES

• Sydnee Reaves hit her 15^th homer of the season and is sixth in the GSC in home runs. Reaves brings her RBI total up to 57 on the season which is second in the conference.
• Lily Stone and Maddie Taylor each recorded a hit. Taylor extended her hitting streak to five games.
• Rachel Whiddon threw 1.1 scoreless innings in her relief outing today. This was Whiddon's fifth outing of the season where she allowed no runs.
