MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo softball team drops both ends of the double-header against West Florida on Saturday, Apr. 13 in Montevallo, Ala.
GAME ONE
The Argonauts dominated the Falcons in game one with 12 runs on 13 hits. West Florida committed an error but came away unscathed. Although, the Falcons would only strikeout one time in the ballgame, UWF would not allow a hit in game in the five-inning run rule. The only blemish would come in the first batter of the game for Montevallo with a lead-off walk drawn by
Ariana Pinder.

GAME TWO
Montevallo would strike first with a lead-off solo-homer off the bat of
Ariana Pinder.
Sydnee Reaves would follow up with a double to center.
Kendall Channell would extend the Falcon lead with a single to right to drive home Reaves. The Argonauts would respond quickly with a solo shot in the top of the second. West Florida took the lead in the top of the third with a two-run homer to left.
Pinder and Reaves would reach base in the bottom half of the third to lead-off the inning.
Bentlee Stiner doubled down the left field line to take the lead with her 38
th and 39
th RBI of the season and to chase the West Florida starting pitcher. After
Taylor Lloyd sat down the Argonauts 1-2-3 in the top of the fourth, Montevallo extended their lead with some good team softball. Pinder would drive home
Maddie Taylor with a sacrifice fly and then a batter later,
Sydnee Reaves would hit her second double of the game to score
Ansley Hudson for a 6-3 lead.
Both teams would tack on an extra run with a 7-4 score going into the seventh with Montevallo having the lead. UWF would lead-off the final frame with a solo shot to center to shorten the UM lead to 7-5. With second and third, one out, West Florida would drive a ball into the left center gap past the diving
Sydnee Reaves to tie the game at 7-7. The Falcons would try to cut down the runner breaking for third on the double but would commit an error causing the runner to score.
Down 8-7, the Falcons would threaten the Argonauts as they committed two errors of their own. With two on, two out, Montevallo would ground out to the pitcher to end the game.

- Ariana Pinder knocked her eighth homer of the season and would drive in two to bring her RBI total to 30.
- Bentlee Stiner drove in her 38th and 39th RBI of the season.
