MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo softball team falls to No. 16 Auburn University in Montgomery by a score of 15-0 on Friday, Apr. 26.
Both teams were able to scratch across a hit in the first inning but couldn't cash in. In the second inning, AUM was able to threaten with two outs as they got on with a hit by pitch and a single but
Taylor Lloyd got out of the inning with a routine ground ball to
Maddie Taylor at third. The Warhawks took the lead in the third as they had first and second with two outs. Margaret Morgan singled to left but the ball was bobbled which allowed the runner from second to score.
From there on, AUM put together two crooked numbered innings. In the fourth, they scored six runs on five hits to extend the lead to 7-0. In the top of the seventh, they put up an eight spot with eight hits in the inning. Montevallo was unable to score in the ballgame.
