Justin Pratt has announced the hiring of Lauren Martin to be the Falcons' assistant coach.
Martin joins the Falcons' staff ahead of the 2024 fall season after spending five years as a golf attendant at Statesville Country Club in Statesville, N.C. During her time in Statesville, she was responsible for creating and overseeing tee times while maintaining the pro shop and marketing membership to potential applicants. Martin also led training camps for young golfers that included swing lessons, course management lessons, and creating individualized drills that were designed to maintain an interest in the game.
The Falcons' newest staff member recently graduated from Lincoln Memorial with a 3.744 GPA in her English courses. In her time at LMU, she was a four-year member of the Railsplitters' golf program where she became a 2024 NCAA Division II South Region Individual qualifier. Martin reached her highest national individual ranking in February of 2024 with a 23
rd ranking in the national standings.
Martin's career at Lincoln Memorial was littered with accolades and high finishes with Martin earning a total of 19 career top-10 finishes. She became the LMU single-round record holder with a career-low 68 while she also holds the record for a 54-hole event with a total score of 216. Martin garnered a pair of South Atlantic Conference All-Conference selections while also earning a spot on two SAC All-Tournament Teams in 2021 and 2024. Martin's academics were just as impressive as her playing career as she was named WGCA All-American Scholar in four-consecutive seasons while also being named to the SAC Commissioner's Honor Roll three times.
