MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo volleyball team is ready for their first Gulf South Conference road test of the season as they take on Trevecca Nazarene on Friday, Sept. 27 at 6:00 p.m. and Lee on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 1:00 p.m.
Last Time Out
Montevallo is out to a 1-0 start in GSC play as they swept West Alabama on Tuesday, Sept. 24. In the match, the Falcons had their second highest hitting percentage of the season at .209. UM also recorded the lowest amount of hitting errors in a match at 13.
Maggie McColley led the Falcons with a .625 hitting percentage with five kills in eight attacks.
Colton Thompson led UM with 13 assists while her and
Grace Petro both had three aces.

About Montevallo
The Falcons enter the weekend winners of their last four out of five matches. UM is looking for their first road win of the season as they are 0-2 in true away matches. In the GSC, Montevallo is sixth with 419 assists, 448 kills and 68 service aces. They are top five in total blocks with 67.
Danielle Greene has already smashed her block total from last season as she already has 33 and is fifth in the GSC. Greene has already set a career-high of 54 kills this season.
Nikol Antova remains second in the conference in kills with 129. Antova also has the second most points in the GSC with 144.5.
Ava Wind continues her freshman campaign with the fifth most digs in the GSC with 147. Antova is the reigning GSC Freshman of the Week and Wind is the reigning GSC Defensive Player of the Week.
Last season, Montevallo defeated Trevecca Nazarene at the UAH Invitational where Head Coach picked up her first win at the division II level and her first win at the helm of the Falcons. UM won both matches against Lee, 3-0 and 3-2.
About Trevecca Nazarene
The Trojans are coming off their first Gulf South victory in program history as they defeated the Union Bulldogs in four sets. TNU is set to host their first home GSC match in program history against the Falcons. The Trojans are seeking their first home win of the season as they are 0-3 as they hosted the Ray Thrasher Classic where they dropped matches to Davenport, Anderson and Quincy.
Trevecca Nazarene is led by Preseason All-GSC Outside Hitter, Emma Titus who has 117 kills. Titus has recorded three double-doubles this season in kills and digs, most recently against Davenport where she had 12 kills and 18 digs. Skias Hainline, TNU's setter, is third in the GSC with 345 assists and she adds 100 digs and 11 service aces. As a team, Trevecca owns the fourth highest hitting percentage (.184), the fourth most kills (470) and the second most total blocks (109) in the GSC.
Against the Trojans, Montevallo is 4-1 all-time. The Falcons have a two-match win streak and are 1-0 in the only match they played against TNU on the road.
Scouting Lee
The Flames are off to a 7-6 start to the season and are 1-0 in conference play as they swept Christian Brothers on Tuesday, Sept. 24. In their last four matches, Lee is 1-3 as they have lost to three of the toughest teams in the country: Nova Southeastern, Embry-Riddle and Quincy.
Like the Falcons, Lee is led by a freshman, Sara Palumbo, who won GSC Freshman of the Week in the opening weekend of the season. Palumbo leads the GSC with 162 kills and has five double-doubles (kills and digs). The freshman from Italy has double-digit kills in all but one match this season. Berra Soyler leads the Flames and is fourth in the conference with 330 assists. As a team, Lee is first in the GSC with 788 points, first with 574 assists, first with 619 kills, first with 106 aces and second with a .237 hitting percentage.
Against the Flames, Montevallo is 10-5 all-time. The Falcons have won the last seven consecutive meetings and is 4-2 against Lee on the road.
