SEWANEE, Tn. – The University of Montevallo swimming teams combine for 15 first-place finishes in their final regular season meet of the 2024-25 season against Sewanee. The women's team defeated the Tigers 144-142, but the men's team fell 109-142.
Enrique Llorens came away with the fifth fastest 100 IM in program history with a time of 55.31.
Hanna Persson joins Llorens in the record book with a time of 1:05.31 in the 100 IM. Persson's time with the ninth fastest swam by a Falcon.
Keara McGee continues to dominate the 100 fly as she swam a time of 59.21, the 10
th fastest in UM history.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
- In the first event of the afternoon, the team of Petra Cajkas, Hanna Persson, Keara McGee and Cypris Wilkinson won first in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:53.88.
- Liz Davis took first place in the 1000 free with a time of 11:13.19.
- In the men's 1000 free, Ethan Brewer placed in first with a time of 10:21.68. Brewer also won first place in the 200 fly with a time of 1:57.48.
- Sophomore's Petra Cajkas and Maja Krawczyk took the top two spots in the women's 100 back with times of 1:00.53 and 1:03.14. Cajkas won first in the 200 back with a time of 2:13.47.
- Hanna Persson had the fastest time in the women's 100 breast at 1:10.85. She would also win the 200 breast with a time of 2:33.50.
- Beth Balent took first for the Falcons in the 200 fly with a time of 2:15.07.
- Freshman Alexander Kim took first in the 100 free with a time of 48.56.
- In the women's 500 free, Alexandria Morgan would post a first-place time of 5:21.89.
- Aleksei Kolesnikov placed first in the 100 fly with a time of 50.60.

The Falcons will now get ready for their first Conference Carolinas Championships in program history. The conference meet will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 19 through Saturday, Feb. 22 in Cary, North Carolina.
