HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Montevallo men's basketball dropped a road meeting with UAH on Thursday night for the second conference loss of the Falcons' season.
The Chargers jumped out to an 8-2 lead in the first 90 seconds with a pair of threes before
Derek Moore ended the early run at the 17:36 mark. A
Jaylen Curry triple two minutes later left the Falcons trailing 10-9 with 15:45 to play. Both sides went scoreless for nearly two minutes out of the first media timeout but a UAH three-pointer left the Falcons trailing by seven with 12:55 to go. The Chargers stretched the lead out to 14 with a 7-0 run over the next two minutes before Curry ended the run with a trip to the line at the 10:08 mark. The Falcons battled back to cut the lead down to 30-20 with another Curry bucket before UAH pushed the lead back out to 14 at the 5:33 mark. The Falcons shot the ball well in the final five minutes, but UAH's offense kept pace and held a 47-31 lead heading into the break.
Out of the half, UAH took a 50-31 lead with the first bucket of the half before the Falcons trimmed the lead with a quick 5-0 run. With 16:11 left in the half, Curry eclipsed 20 points for the fourth time this season. On the next UAH possession, the Chargers took a 20-point lead over the Falcons. At the 14:01 mark, Montevallo faced its largest deficit of the night at 68-44. With an 11-4 run, the Falcons trimmed the lead down to 17 with a
Brandon Fussell trip to the stripe. Over the final ten minutes, Curry scored 11 of Montevallo's 21 points to set a career-high with 31 points. The Chargers' three-point shooting proved to be too much for the Falcons as UAH took a 96-78 win over Montevallo.

- The Falcons lost the rebounding battle for fifth time this season with the Chargers taking a 38-29 advantage on the glass.
- Montevallo shot the ball well with a 44.1-percent clip from the field but a 58.3-percent mark from UAH proved to be the difference.
- Jaylen Curry scored 31 points on 10-of-16 shooting and 5-of-8 from three-point range while grabbing four rebounds and dishing out a pair of assists.
- Brandon Fussell led the Falcons on the glass with seven rebounds while dropping 18 points on 7-of-16 shooting.
