MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Montevallo women's soccer dropped its meeting with No. 6 West Florida, 2-1, on Wednesday night.
Both sides touted stiff defense in the opening 20 minutes with just one shot from West Florida and a pair of corner kicks with one from each team. West Florida opened the scoring in the 27
th minute to take a 1-0 lead.
Ciara Duff would tally her first save of the game the following minute before adding a second just a few moments later. The Falcons' junior goalkeeper added a third save in the final minute of the first half to keep the game knotted at 1-1.
The Falcons would open the second half with a dangerous freekick from
Morgan Goehring in the 49
th minute but the junior was denied. Duff added a fourth save just a few minutes later before
Isabel Dillehay was turned away with her first shot on goal of the night in the 58
th minute. The Argos would take a 2-1 lead in the 64

Bear Bradbury saw Montevallo's last chance to tie the game in the 81
st minute but UWF's keeper kept the Falcons' out of the net and took a 2-1 win over Montevallo.
