Falcons Top Spring Hill, 3-1, to Close Conference Season

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Montevallo women's soccer closed its Gulf South Conference schedule with a 3-1 win over Spring Hill on Wednesday night.

The Falcons drew first blood with Bear Bradbury's second goal of the season coming just two minutes after the opening kick. Just a few minutes later, Lainey Farabaugh forced the first SHC save of the night in the 10th minute before freshman Ayla Ertekin forced a second Badger save in the 16th minute. Farabaugh would eventually beat the keeper on a breakaway chance to put the Falcons' up by two goals in the 27th minute. Ciara Duff tallied her lone save of the night in the 32nd minute before Lara Brewis found her first Falcon goal in the 41st minute to give Montevallo a 3-0 lead heading into the break.

Montevallo came out of the half firing with a pair of shots on goal early from Bradbury and Ertekin. A Montevallo red card in the 70th minute left UM with just 10 players and led to a SHC goal off the ensuing free kick to cut the lead down to 3-1. Madysen Legere got in on the action with a shot on target in the 76th minute before Katelynn Kott fired the final shot of the game in the 88th minute. Montevallo held SHC scoreless for the final 20 minutes to take its eighth win in conference play with a 3-1 victory.
