Falcons Fall to West Florida in GSC Title Game

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Montevallo women's soccer fell in the 2025 Gulf South Conference Championship game, 1-0, to top seeded West Florida.

Montevallo fired the first shot of the game off the foot of freshman Ayla Ertekin in the first minute before Bear Bradbury fired a second shot in the second minute. In the 22nd, Ciara Duff tallied her first save of the afternoon to keep the score locked at 0-0. The Argos nearly took the lead late in the first half, but the UWF shot careened off the woodwork to send the game to the half in a 0-0 tie.

West Florida broke the ice just five minutes to take a 1-0 lead in the 50th minute. Dillehay looked to tie the game in the 53rd minute with the first UM shot on goal but the UWF keeper pushed it aside. Just two minutes later, Duff added her second save of the afternoon to keep the Falcons within striking distance. In the 78th minute, Morgan Goehring nearly tied the game but her shot bounced off the crossbar and stayed out. Montevallo saw a pair of corners in the final 12 minutes but couldn't find the back of the net and fell 1-0 in the title game.
