MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Montevallo men's and women's swimming teams are set to return to action this week as they travel to Indianapolis, Ind., to compete in the 2025 House of Champions, hosted at the historic IU Natatorium. The three-day event runs Thursday through Saturday, with prelims beginning each morning at 9:00 a.m. CT.
The Falcons enter the meet with momentum following a dual sweep over Berry on Nov. 8. The women rolled to a 181-75 victory, while the men edged out a tight 133-128 win.
Alexandria Morgan earned Conference Carolinas Swimmer of the Week recognition after a standout performance in the dual. The Birmingham, Ala., native was part of the winning 400-yard medley relay (4:07.35) and 200-yard freestyle relay (1:43.54), while also securing individual victories in the 200-yard freestyle (2:00.20) and 500-yard freestyle (5:24.46).
This year's House of Champions features one of the deepest fields in the region, highlighted by a strong contingent of Division I programs. In addition to the host IU Indy, the field includes Ball State, Lewis, Milwaukee, Illinois-Chicago, Missouri State, Lynn, Northern Kentucky, Saint Louis, Southern Indiana, and Montevallo. Butler and Little Rock will also compete on the women's side.
While this marks Montevallo's first appearance at the event, the Falcons are not entirely unfamiliar with the venue. Seniors Keara McGee and Aleksei Kolesnikov both competed at the IU Natatorium last season at the Division II National Championships, gaining valuable experience on one of the nation's premier stages.
