The Falcons found themselves in an early rhythm, opening the night with a 7-1 run behind the serve of Ellise Hanson, sparked by kills from Eliza Tyrrell and Katie Wilkerson.

The Choctaws rallied to take an 18-14 lead, but Montevallo's composure proved key down the stretch. A late kill from Wilkerson tied it at 25-25, and the Falcons closed with the final three points to seal the opener, 28–26.

Set two mirrored the first with both sides trading runs. Montevallo built a 15-12 advantage following a 6-1 run. However, Mississippi College stormed back late with the final three points to win, 26-24, and even the match up at one apiece.

The Falcons regrouped in the third. After an 8-8 tie, Montevallo went on an 8-3 run to create separation. Montevallo never trailed after the midway point, closing the set 25-19 to take a 2–1 lead in the match.

Mississippi College flipped the script in the fourth, using a 10-0 run midway through to break open a one-point deficit into a 16-7 lead. The visitors held off the Falcons, 25–15, to force a deciding fifth.

In the final set, MC jumped ahead 6-2 early. The Falcons clawed back behind a 3-0 spurt with a Beatty kill and a pair of blocks, cutting the deficit to one at 13-12. Montevallo's comeback effort came up short, however, as the Choctaws closed out the match 15-12 on back-to-back kills.
