MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo baseball team is set to host their first midweek of the season as they take on the Tuskegee Golden Tigers on Tuesday, Feb. 18 at Kermit A. Johnson Field at Bob Riesener Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. CT.

Montevallo is coming a hard-fought series win over West Florida. The Falcons fell in game one, but bounced back to win game two in 13 innings of play. In the series finale, the Falcons won 4-1 in a pitcher's duel that saw
Gino Cozzi go six shutout innings while he struck out seven batters.
Evan Radford recorded four hits, six RBI and his third home run of the season.

About Montevallo
The Falcon pitching staff has been electric through the first 10 games of the season. As a team, they have the second lowest ERA (4.26), the second most strikeouts (79) and the third lowest batting average against (.265) in the conference. Montevallo has four pitchers in the top-12 in the conference in ERA:
Garrett Sloan at 1.50,
Gino Cozzi at 2.19,
Seth Gurr at 2.84 and
Adiel Melendez at 3.45.
Zach Wyatt will take the mound for the Falcons as he comes into Tuesday's midweek with 8.2 innings under his belt for the 2025 season. The second year Falcon has poured in the strikes as he's only allowed two free passes this season while striking out five. This will be Wyatt's first midweek start of his career and fifth game started.
Evan Radford came up big for the Falcons in this weekend's series win against West Florida. Radford totaled six RBI for the series. In game two, he put UM on top with his third homer of the season. In the 13th inning, he gave the Falcons a 4-2 lead with a double down the left field line to drive in two. Radford gave the Falcons the lead in game three with a single to left that drove in two. He would add his sixth RBI of the series with a double in the 8th inning for insurance. Montevallo has no shortage of power in the batting order as they lead the Gulf South Conference with 17 total homers.

Ethan Huddleston are all tied for third in the GSC with two home runs.
Montevallo is 24-1 all-time dating back to their first meeting in 2002. The last match up between the two teams was a high-scoring affair where they combined for 32 runs on 26 hits.
Scouting Tuskegee
The Golden Tigers come in with a 3-7 record and they are 0-3 in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play. They dropped their opening SIAC series against Albany State where they were swept by the Golden Rams.
Ryan Morrow leads Tuskegee with a .303 batting average and has three multi-hit games this season. Against Albany State, he went 4-for-10 with three RBI and two runs scored. Evan Jones leads the team with two homers and is tied with Morrow for the team lead in RBI with seven. The team is 3-1 when score six or more runs.
The pitching staff sports a 6.33 ERA as they've allowed 53 earned runs in 75.1 innings pitched. They have only allowed six home runs this season and have struck out 44 batters. Opposing batters hit at a .265 clip against the Tuskegee pitchers.
