MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo baseball team is set for their midweek road test against Georgia Southwestern on Tuesday, Feb. 25 in Americus, Ga. First pitch is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. CT at Hurricane Stadium.

About Montevallo
With a two-homer game against Tuskegee and two long balls against Mississippi College, Crowson is now third in Division II with eight home runs. He is tied for first in the GSC with 22 hits, third with a 1.226 OPS, second with an .817 slugging percentage and first in total bases with 49.
McGwire Turner had 10 hits in his last six games played. Turner has also blasted four homers in his last nine games. He is tied for second in the conference in homers and is tied for eighth with 19 hits.

Montevallo has played 13 games (out of 14) against teams who have a winning record.
In their last eight match ups, the teams are 4-4 against one another. The teams faced off for the first time since 2017 last season as the Hurricanes defeated the Falcons 10-2. The last time Montevallo played in Americus, Ga., the Falcons were members of the Peach Belt Conference. They defeated the Hurricanes in the series where they took two out of three games.
Scouting Georgia Southwestern
The Hurricanes come in with a 9-6 record and they are coming off a series win against Quincy. They are no stranger to playing against ranked teams as they have beaten Nova Southeastern when the Sharks were ranked and they played against fourth ranked Florida Southern. GSW is 2-0 against Gulf South Conference opponents as they beat Auburn Montgomery 6-2 and Valdosta State in a slug fest 17-14.
Paul Hegeman has had a hot start to the 2025 season as he leads the team with a .412 average and is second with 14 RBI. Cory Lee has 23 hits, two homers and a team-leading 15 RBI. The offense has been hot as they have scored 10 or more runs in three out of their last five games. They are third in the Peach Belt Conference with 139 hits as a team, but they are one of five teams in the PBC without double-digit home runs.
The Hurricanes are tough to beat at home as they sport a record of 7-3 in Americus.
