NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The University fo Montevallo baseball team split Saturday's double-header against Trevecca Nazarene on Saturday, Mar. 1 in Nashville, Tenn. This is the first GSC series loss for the Falcons this season as they are now 10-8 and 5-4 in GSC play.
Game 1
A wild pitch gave Trevecca its first run of the game and an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning.
In the next frame, Crowson extended his hitting streak to eight as he added a pair of RBI on double to center to even the score 2-2.
With the score even at 2 Cozzi settled into the game in the second inning and held the Trojans scoreless over the next three and two-thirds innings, while collecting six strikeouts. Lefty Matthew Bullard replaced Cozzi in the fifth and struck out a Trojan batter to end the frame.
In the top of the fifth inning, Logan Harbin lifted the Falcons in front, 3-2. Khalil Bell led off the frame with a double before being driven in by a single from Harbin's bat.
A pair of singles from Payton Stephenson and Connor Crowson extended UM's lead to 5-2 in the sixth. The RBI was Crowson's third of the day and marked his second three-plus RBI game of the season. A few batters later, Evan Radford picked up an RBI as he drove in UM's sixth run with a single to left, giving the Falcons a 6-2 advantage.
Bullard turned in a three up, three down inning in the sixth to preserve the Falcons' lead.
Trevecca Nazarene picked up a two-run homer in the seventh to force Bullard out of the game and trim Montevallo's lead to two, 6-4.
Radford responded for the Falcons in the eighth with his second RBI single of the day to extend the lead to three, 7-4.
Garrett Sloan pitched the final two and two thirds' innings for the Falcons, replacing Bullard. In the eighth, the Trojans scored an unearned running to make it 7-5.
Trevecca Nazarene added another run in the ninth to cut the deficit to one, 7-6, but Sloan retired the next two batters to secure the win. Sloan picked up his fifth save of the season and Bullard moved to 3-0 on the year.

GAME NOTES
· Connor Crowson finished 2-for-4 to extend his hitting streak to eight games and reached base streak to 17. He added three RBI for his second three-plus RBI game of the year.
· Evan Radford led the Falcons with three hits as he finished 3-for-4 from the plate with two RBI.
· Mitchell Walker finished 2-for-3 while Mac Turner and Payton Stephenson each collected two hits.
· Gino Cozzi struck out seven batters of 4.2 solid innings.
· Matthew Bullard improved to 4-0 on the year.
· Garrett Sloan picked up his fifth save.
GAME TWO
The Falcons picked up the early lead after a single to from off the bat of McGwire Turner. The Trojans exploded for five runs on five hits in the second inning. All five hits from TNU were singles.
Montevallo chipped away as Connor Crowson would score Ethan Huddleston on an RBI single up the middle in the top of the second. Trevecca Nazarene instantly killed the momentum with a two RBI double to center.
The Trevecca lead would hold up as Montevallo would scratch across two in the top of the sixth with singles from Jacob Pearl and Daniel Irizarry, but, the Trojans bullpen closed the door on any Falcon comeback.

· Crowson, Turner and Huddleston recorded multi-hit efforts.
· The Falcons bullpen was great yet again as Logan Medsker, Mitchell Rhodes and Trey Felker combined for 3.2 innings, no hits allowed and two strikeouts.
