MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The University of Montevallo baseball squad is set to host Spring Hill College for its fourth-consecutive home outing in a mid-week bout on Tuesday, March 11 with first pitch scheduled for 3 p.m.

Adiel Melendez improving his record to 4-2 after throwing 7.1 innings with six strikeouts, no walks and just two earned runs. Montevallo's bats added a season-high 18 hits in the game one win led by 3-for-5 marks from
Connor Crowson and
Ethan Huddleston with Crowson tallying a game-high three RBI and Huddleston scoring a game-high three runs. Montevallo dropped a tightly contested game two, 5-4, before falling in the series finale to dip to 12-10 overall.

About Montevallo
Montevallo's offense remains one leaders of the Gulf South Conference with a league-high 29 home runs and a second-best .290 team batting average while ranking second in the GSC with a total of 216 hits. The Falcons have been more consistent at the plate over the last seven games with single digit strikeout number over that span.
Senior
Connor Crowson is batting .538 in the in the Falcons last three midweek outings with seven hits while driving in five runs with a pair of home runs.
McGwire Turner continued to be one of Montevallo's top hitters after extending his hitting streak against UAH while adding three RBI in the series to add to his season total of 14. In the month of March,
Evan Radford is hitting .391 with nine hits and five runs scored through the last five games.
Mason Creasey will take his second start of the season on Tuesday with a chance to improve on his 1-0 record in his first season as a Falcon. In six outings in a Montevallo uniform, the senior has thrown 12.2 innings with nine strikeouts and just three earned runs in 46 batters faced. In his first start of the season against Columbus State on March 4, Creasey tossed 4.0 scoreless innings with just four hits and a strikeout in Montevallo's 9-7 win.
Scouting Spring Hill
The Badgers enter Tuesday's bout with a 15-8 overall record and an 11-1 mark in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play to top the SIAC standings. In SHC's most recent series against Tuskegee, Spring Hill went 3-0 with a total of 28 runs across the series. The Badgers took game one in dominant fashion with a 15-1 win in seven innings before squeaking out a 4-3 win in the second game of the March 7 double header. Spring Hill added a 9-5 win to close the weekend.
Spring Hill is led by Jackson Bell who is batting .415 on the season with 34 hits and a team-high eight doubles while Seth Williams hits .390 on 32 hits while adding a pair of team highs with five homers and 28 RBI. Bryce Anderson leads the Badgers with 24 runs scored while batting .279 with 19 hits on the season.
In the previous meeting between the two lineups, Montevallo walked away with a 7-3 road win over the Badgers behind a pair of home runs from
Connor Crowson and
Logan Harbin back on Feb. 4.
Matthew Bullard picked up the win on the road with 2.2 innings and a pair of strikeouts while
Seth Gurr went 4.1 in his start with four Ks and three earned runs.
